The regional informational meetings for the educational project “Changing with Climate” will be held between 24 November and 13 December 2022.
The meetings will be hosted by the project partner schools Secondary School “Tsvetan Radoslavov”, Svishtov; Primary School “Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov”, Berkovitsa; Primary School ” St. St. Cyril and Methodius “, Vesselinovo village; Secondary School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, Belitsa; Primary School “St. Paisii Hilendarski” Bansko; Secondary School “Konstantin Petkanov” Burgas; Vocational School of Agriculture “BUZEMA”, Sofia.
The meetings’ program is dedicated to the presentation of one of the main products of the project – an online educational portal, including a wide range of information and educational materials related to climate change, featuring possible solutions. Teachers will also learn about the training programmes developed on the different dimensions of climate change. The programmes are aimed at helping teachers to implement the national education standards for citizenship, health, environmental and intercultural education in a meaningful and inspiring way.
The events aim to inform the local community about upcoming regional campaigns in order to raise awareness and initiate climate change adaptation activities at the local level.
The focus of the Regional Awareness Meetings will also be to search for relevant topics for school campaigns and student projects in response to local environmental challenges.
Representatives from local government, businesses, educational institutions, civic organizations, media, citizens, and community members are welcome for discussions related to the impacts of climate change on economic sectors, human health, urban and environmental health.
