The regional informational meeting on the project “Changing with Climate” in the city of Burgas was held on 24 November 2022. Nearly 50 participants attended the event at the Regional Library “Peyo K. Yavorov”. Among them were teachers, principals, students, experts, representatives of institutions and media.
Experts from “Changing with Climate” explained the ideas and tasks within the project, as well as the created educational programs addressing the challenges related to climate change. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the structure and content of the educational information portal, which is also a part of the project.
A highlight of the meeting was the group work on selecting appropriate topics for school projects and campaigns. The participants were divided into small working groups, each of which presented their views and ideas, discussed and complemented by the attendees.
The topics proposed for local campaigns and school student projects were:
- Threats to forests from climate change.
- Building our green home.
- Let’s plant and grow a forest.
- Biking to the future.
- Energy Efficiency.
During the regional meeting, teachers were invited to contribute to the upgrade of the information portal with educational materials related to climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience.
