The regional informational meeting in Berkovitsa took place on 29 November 2022 at the Natural Science Centre of the “Nikola Vaptsarov” Primary School. The event is part of the project “Changing with Climate”. The event was attended by 30 people, including directors and deputy directors of schools from the municipality of Berkovitsa, teachers and students.
Experts from “Changing with Climate” explained the ideas and tasks envisaged within the project. The representatives of institutions and organizations present expressed their support and awareness of the importance of the topic, as well as their willingness to participate in the implementation of the project activities.
The participants had the opportunity to learn more about the information and education portal of the project, as well as the structure and content of the main thematic areas of the portal. Teachers were encouraged to get involved in further upgrading the portal with educational materials related to climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience.
The main focus of the meeting was group work to select appropriate topics for school projects and campaigns. Participants were divided into small working groups, with teachers, students, experts, institutional representatives, and project team representatives in each group. The groups presented their views and ideas, discussed and complemented by the attendees.
The topics proposed for local campaigns and school student projects were:
- Getting around on foot.
- Let’s build our green home.
- Energy Efficiency- Biking to the Future.
