Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) are gathering for this year’s 27th Climate Change Conference (COP27). Taking place from 6 to 18 November, the meeting is hosted by Egypt. At COP27, countries seek to accelerate global climate action, with a focus on mitigation of global warming and financial assistance to help developing countries address the effects of climate change.
The Prime Minister of Tuvalu, Kaussea Natano, addressed world leaders at COP27 to call for a new global treaty to phase out fossil fuels and help vulnerable countries cope with climate devastation. Kaussea Natano urged us to be responsible for the future and to join the petition with his address to the summit participants.
